LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Shoals business owner spoke out after thieves targeted his store, stealing dozens of deadly weapons. The crooks took more than two dozen guns from White's Trading Post off Highway 43 in Lauderdale County.

Terry White spent the day picking up the pieces of a shattered store, destroyed by thieves during Thursday morning's break-in.

"They violated our personal life. We worked hard to get this store and they just destroyed it," said White. "Motion detectors, glass breakage, cameras, everything possible to stop this from happening."

More than two dozen guns remain on the streets unaccounted for. White fears what could happen if they're not found.

"Not just for us, because it happened to us, but for the safety of the people in this country, because like they apparently are bad people and nobody knows what their intentions are, what they plan on doing with these guns. Are they going to hurt somebody, are they going to rob somebody with them, are they drug addicts, why did they pick us to do this to? It's a bad feeling, you can't shake it."

White said he's left with unanswered questions, but remains hopeful the burglars will be caught.
