DHR check ended with arrest of three people on drug charges

Three people werecharged with unlawful possession of marijuana Thursday night during a DHR checkin Colbert County.

Agents with the Colbert County Drug Task Force, Sheriff'sOffice went with Colbert County DHR to the residence of Frances Marion to checkon the welfare of two of Frances' children. According to the Colbert CountyDrug Task Force, , they and DHR received information regarding prescriptionpills abuse and a marijuana grow operation.

According to investigators, upon arriving at theresidence, Colbert DHR received consent from the homeowner to check the livingconditions provided for the children. They said DHR workers located a marijuanagrow in a bedroom closet.

Agents and investigators searched the residence. Duringthe search, investigators reported finding another grow operation in anotherbedroom.

Barbara Marion, Frances Marion, Brandon Hutchins, andFranklin Cook all stated they didn't know anything about the plants. Theyclaimed the plants belonged to George Marion who no longer lived at theresidence, and had been gone for 3 months. Frances Marion claimed the pills foundin her room stating she had recently relapsed.

According to DHR, drug screens were administered to allthe adults living at the residence that were present. Frances, Brandon, andFranklin reportedly tested positive for marijuana, and Frances reportedly alsotested positive for Xanax and Klonapin. Barbara reportedly tested positive forher prescription medication only.

DHR removed the children from the home. Frances, Brandon,and Franklin were all arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.Frances was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlledsubstance.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
