The Huntingdon College Department of Sport Science and Physical Education is hosting eight teams who are competing as part of the Alabama Special Olympics championship basketball tournament.
Games started at 9 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. in both Catherine Dixon Roland Arena, Roland Student Center, and James W. Wilson Jr. Gymnasium, Will and Kelly Wilson Community and Athletic Center.
Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
This is the fifth year Huntingdon has hosted teams from the championship basketball tournament for Alabama Special Olympics.
The games are facilitated by students and faculty who are part of Huntingdon's sport science and physical education (SSPE) programs.
Huntingdon's SSPE programs provide instruction in working with individuals who have special needs and those who require adaptive measures for participating in competitive or recreational sport.
