MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Marshall County man who was attacked by hisown pet deer will have to pay a fine for owning the animal illegally.

J.R. Dunsmore pleaded guilty to one count ofillegally owning deer. He will pay $375 to the court. Six other counts weredismissed.

Dunsmore was seriously injured after a buckhe held captive attacked him. The deer that were on the property were removedshortly after the incident.

Wildlife officials remind the public thatowning deer as pets is illegal.
