HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The University of Alabama at Huntsville announced Thursday it is changing the way it charges tuition.

The school will move to "block tuition" rates for full-time students, while part-time students will continue to pay per credit hour.

University officials believe the change will help students take more classes per semester because they will be paying one flat rate. In other words, they can take 18 hours at the same cost of 12.

Taking more classes per semester will ultimately help students graduate faster.
