Arab nursing home earns 5-star distinction

ARAB, AL (WAFF) -

A Tennessee Valley assisted care facilityhas, for the second year running, been given an award of excellence.

The Golden Living Center nursing home in Arabwas named among the best in the nation, according to a study done by U.S. News& World Report. The facility earned a five-star rating in categories suchas health inspections, nurse staffing, and other quality measures.

"It's clean; a nice staff,"said resident Danny Brandon. "You get wonderful people around you."

"We've worked hard everyday, and honestly, it doesn't matter if we get recognition or not – we're stillgoing to deliver the same quality of care," said Executive Director MarkTuggle.

"Our team works togetherlike a family. I think that's probably the most important aspect of why we getthis type of result," Tuggle said.

Only 30 percent of thenursing homes in the state earn a five-star rating.

    An incarcerated Lawrence County man who walked off a work detail earlier this month has been captured in Colorado.  The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office reportedly took Austen Larry Williams, 28, into custody on Saturday.
