NORTH ALABAMA (WAFF) -

The case against a Lauderdale County womanfacing child pornography charges goes to trial on Monday. Patricia Ayers, alongwith her husband Matthew, is accused of a numberof sex crimes after investigators found pictures of him performing sex actson a young girl.

A Marshall County man convicted of raping twoteen girls while out on bond for allegedly stabbing a man is set to besentenced Monday. ColtonHall faces life in prison for the crime.

A major Huntsville road project will close aportion of Old Madison Pike for more than a year. Monday, the portion from JanDavis Drive to Slaughter Road will be closed as construction begins. Whencompleted, there will be a new four-lane roadway, bridges, sidewalks, bicyclelanes and a new greenway parking area.

The Athens City Council is set to vote on aresolution at its Monday meeting involving the Remington Outdoor Company. Thegun manufacturer is buildinga new plant in Huntsville, and the City of Athens has a role in providingsupport for the project.

Jackson County Commissioners will meet Mondayto vote on a proposed viciousdog ordinance. If passed, the ordinance will give the Sheriff's Departmentmore authority in dealing with dog attack cases. Currently, only animal controlofficers can advise victims to bring the matter to small claims court.

Tuesday, a social media conference in theRocket City will teach newbies and seasoned Facebookers the latest in internetmarketing. It's at the Space and Rocket Center Marriott from 7:30 a.m. to 5p.m.

The man arrested for sex abuse twice in eightdays is set to appear in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. BrianLucas is charged with sexual abuse and sodomy of a minor.
