Sheffield woman charged with chemical endangerment of baby

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Sheffield woman was arrested after aninvestigation revealed her daughter was born with drugs in her system.

35-year-old Karmen Michelle Fountain wasarrested and charged with chemical endangerment of a child.

Florence Police said Fountain and the babytested positive for opiates when the child was born Oct. 4 at ECM Hospital.

Fountain was released on $5,000 bond.
