NORTH ALABAMA (WAFF) -

Former State Senator Lowell Barron is scheduled to be in a DeKalb County courtroom Friday morning for a motions hearing in his corruption trial.  

Among the motions that could go before the judge, is an attempt to put Attorney General Luther Strange on the witness list. Barron is due to go on trial this year on charges he illegally used campaign funds in the 2012 election.

Governor Robert Bentley is scheduled to visit part of North Alabama as part of his economic recovery tour. Bentley has stops scheduled in Haleyville and Hamilton as he visits Marion and Winston Counties.

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle will be going back to school Friday morning. The mayor and representatives from First Book/Book Start will present books from the 2014 Mayor's Book Club to each student in Huntsville's at MLK Elementary. The mayor will also read "Green Eggs and Ham" to the younger students.
