HAMMONDVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A pair of popular cable reality shows are setting up shop in the Tennessee Valley this week.

Chef Robert Irvine is bringing "Restaurant Impossible" back to Alabama.

Thursday and Friday, the Food Network program's crew will join the celebrity chef at Big Jim's Bama-Q in Hammondville, just outside Mentone.

"Impossible" goes to troubled mom-and-pop restaurants, remodels them, and gives the owners advice in an attempt to improve business.

The series previously featured a restaurant in Meridianville in 2012. The owners of that establishment sold the business shortly after Irvine and crew left.

Over in the Shoals, A&E Network's "American Pickers" continues its search for treasures hidden in folks' junk piles and basements.

Series star Mike Wolfe stopped for a picture with a pair from a Shoals group called Greenhill Pickers in Lauderdale County on Tuesday.
