Kitchen Cops: Convenience store scores low with health dept.

COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The Raceway on Woodward Avenue in Muscle Shoals scored an 80 with the Colbert County Health Department. The inspector said they discovered toxic items, including lighter fluid and window cleaner, on a shelf next to self-service items including candy and drink cups. The inspector also reported that some workers have not passed the required food safety course.

The Pulaski Mini Mart in Huntsville had been on the Madison County Health Department's reinspection schedule for several months after scoring 73, 81, 81 and 82 during their previous four inspections. But, during their most recent reinspection, they scored an 88.

It take at least an 85 to get off of the reinspection schedule, and the Pulaski University Texaco scored an 87 during their reinspection. They scored an 84 during their previous inspection.

The Payless Gas & Food in Decatur scored 13 points better than last time with a 93 during their reinspection. Also in Decatur, the Stock-N-Save grocery store scored a 92, a 12 point improvement over their previous inspection.
