To either keep or fire Carol Wicks as Director of Animal Services will be a decision made by the city council. If it comes to that, it would be put on a Decatur City Council meeting agenda for further review. So far, it is not on the agenda for their next meeting on Sep 2. If the issue comes before the city council, that's when we hope to find out why Mayor Kyle decided to put Wicks on paid administrative leave. He will not comment on it, saying he cannot talk about a pending personnel issue. BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Etowah County District Attorney says the owner of the Gadsden Etowah EMS is wanted for writing bad checks.

Roger Dale Stanmore is charged with four counts of negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument, according to D.A. Jimmie Harp. Harp says the bad checks were to Gadsden Etowah EMS employees. Employees walked off the job nearly two weeks ago, saying they hadn't been paid. The company filed for bankruptcy shortly after and returned their business license to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Harp says he has been contacted by Stanmore's attorney, who claims Stanmore has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The D.A. says the bankruptcy filing will not protect Stanmore from criminal charges.

Harp says Stanmore can turn himself in or wait until he gets picked up by law enforcement.
