A conference aimed at improving child safetywas held in Decatur on Tuesday.

The conference brought leaders from all overthe state to talk about issues affecting children and teens.

One of the featured speakers at the event wasDonny Bynum, the Dale County superintendent who had to deal with a boy snatchedoff a school bus and held hostage in a bunker last year.

"One of the most critical aspects we broughtfrom our incident in Dale County was critical stress management. That wasinvaluable; we had nothing in place at the time," Bynum said.

Conference participants have been sharingtheir experiences at this conference for the past twelve years as they work tomake Alabama children safer.
