SCS cancels class on Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - The Shelby County School District has canceled class for Tuesday due to inclement weather.

The district released the following statement after the announcement:

While many city roads are clear, many rural areas of our district are still experiencing dangerous road conditions. All before and after-school activities are also canceled, including athletics and the rezoning community meeting at Kate Bond Middle School (these events will be rescheduled). ACT testing has been rescheduled by the state for Thursday, March 6.

All administrative offices will open two hours late (10 a.m.).

Only non-instructional operational staff (i.e. maintenance/facilities) should contact their supervisors regarding duties in schools on Tuesday. All other school-based employees should not report to work, according to the district.
