SC's Pitmasters at 1st Inaugural 'BBQ Battle at The Beach'

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - South Carolina's best BBQ Pitmasters go head to head during the 1st Inaugural BBQ Battle at The Beach, April 4 through April 5 at The Beaver Bar in Murrells Inlet, rain or shine. The event will benefit local nonprofit organization, The Outreach Farm.

Friday, April 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. BBQ cooking teams will provide cooked 'Wings 'n Things'. Guest judges include Night Train of 106.5 FM. Monetary awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be given. Bar will sell alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages, and local vendors will sell side items. Advance adult tickets are $8 for adults, children $6, and can be purchased at The Beaver Bar, or at the event.

Saturday, April 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be the official BBQ tournament. All-you-can-eat BBQ includes rolls and coleslaw. The Saturday event includes a sanctioned SC BBQ Association cook off in the category of Butts. Live music and a live auction will also be part of the festivities. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in the butt category - $1,200, $500, and $250, respectively. Additionally, there will be a People's Choice cash award of $200. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children and can be purchased at The Beaver Bar.
