Arctic front continues to trek across SC; Freeze warning issued for Lowcountry

Posted: Updated:
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

An arctic front will continue its trek across South Carolina Monday evening. Temperatures in the Lowcoutnry are expected to fall overnight into the upper 20s to low 30s.

A freeze warning is in effect for Tuesday from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. because of the early growing season freeze.

There is a slight chance for a little freezing drizzle by morning which may create a few slick spots, especially on elevated surfaces.

Tuesday looks gloomy and cold with a few showers possible by afternoon.  Highs will only be in the low to mid 40s.

The rest of the work week remains unsettled with rain in the forecast Wednesday through Friday.
