WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - After reaching highs in the 60s and 70s Sunday and early Monday, an arctic air mass will bring much colder and possibly slick conditions late Monday into Tuesday. The forecast remains chilly and unsettled for much of the week.
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY: Expect cloudy and chilly conditions with highs Tuesday mainly in the upper 30s and lower 40s, lows Tuesday night in the 30s, and highs Wednesday in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Pockets of rain, drizzle, or freezing drizzle may occur in this time.
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: A storm system will travel along the Carolina Coast and bring a high chance of showers from Thursday into at least Friday morning. This could be a nice pre-growing season soaker! Temperatures will likely reach the 40s and 50s Thursday and 50s to near 60 Friday.
WEEKEND: Tranquil weather is in the forecast for Friday night and Saturday with a high pressure system likely to be in control. Expect lows in the 40s Friday night and highs in the 60s to near perhaps lower 70s Saturday. Sunday: partly cloudy, shower chance returns, 60s.
