DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

People of Decatur went to the polls in 2010 and decidedon changing the city government. The change never happened. City leaders weresued over it.

Voters approved a proposal to do away with the currentMayor and City Council system, and replace it with a City Manager and two fewerCity Council members.

The Department of Justice got involved, but the lawsuitclaimed city leaders started dragging their feet with the feds to delay thechangeover.

The lawsuit named Mayor Don Kyle along with all five CityCouncil members as defendants.
