6 injured in multi-vehicle wreck after high-speed chase

ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Alabama State Troopers identified the people injured in a multiple-vehicle wreck after a high-speed chase.

Police said they were attempting to make a traffic stop Thursday on Highway 431 when a Mitsubishi Eclipse led them on a high-speed chase for two miles. The chase ended in a crash that injured six people.

Authorities said the most serious injuries were reported in the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Troopers identified the driver as Delver Nethery, 24, of Falkville. Nethery had to be airlifted to Huntsville Hospital to undergo treatment for his injuries. According to troopers, two passengers inside the vehicle were also injured. Justin Moore, 25, of Boaz, was injured and taken to the hospital. Elizabeth Norman, 28, of Cullman, was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said the driver of one of the vehicles struck by the Eclipse was 30-year-old Holly Debord, of Albertville. She was believed to have suffered minor injuries in the wreck.

Two passengers in a second vehicle troopers said was struck by the Eclipse, were also taken to the hospital. Kimberly Vaughn, 26, of Albertville, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Troopers said 6-month-old Mayhala Murphy was unhurt in the wreck but taken to Marshall Medical Center to be checked out.

No arrests have been made at this time. State troopers continue to investigate.
