GURLEY, AL (WAFF) -

A couple survived a wreck in Gurley Wednesday afternoon, but their car wasn't as lucky.

The couple sideswiped a truck and ended up in a pond at the intersection of Little Cove Road and Rock Cut Road.

The couple was able to get out of the wrecked car and was taken to the hospital. They are expected to be okay.

Their car was completely submerged in the water. Witnesses could see the windshield wipers continue operating while underwater.
