HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A jury returned a guilty verdict in the Joshua Conerly murder trial, Wednesday afternoon.

Conerly was charged with murder in the shooting death of Timothy Lanier.

Investigators said the shooting happened Feb. 2011 on the 200 block of Victory Lane in Huntsville. According to court documents, Conerly shot Lanier twice with a shotgun and then fled the scene.

Conerly was later arrested at a motel in Huntsville.
