Second suspect arrested in Auburn case involving rape, sodomy and incest

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

The Auburn Police Department says it has arrested a second suspect in connection to a child sex abuse investigation.

Authorities say Auburn resident Nathan S. Childers, 29, was taken into custody Monday on felony warrants  including rape, sodomy and incest.

The investigation and arrest of Childers led to the Tuesday arrest of MohamedH. Alyami, 21, also of Auburn.

Authorities say Childer's arrest came as a result of an investigation showing he had an inappropriate and illegal sexual relationship with a child under the age of 12. The victim and suspect are related.

Investigators say Alyami, who is not related to the victim, also engaged in inappropriate and illegal contactwith the victim while at his home.

The victim in now in foster care by the Lee County Department of Humane Resources pending a completed investigation.

Childers is being held at the Lee County Detention Facility under a bond of $150,000 while Alyami has a bond set at $50,000. 

Authorities say additional charges are possible in this case.
