MONTGOMERY, AL (WAFF) -

Governor Robert Bentley will speak at the 4th annual Virtual Alabama School Safety Summit in Montgomery.

Virtual Alabama is a high-tech system created to make schools safer. The information and mapping system helps first-responders during emergencies at public buildings, like schools and colleges. The program provides a view of exits, staging areas and classroom floor plans so first responders can come up with a plan quickly during a crisis.

The purpose of the School Safety Summit is to provide an opportunity for educators and law enforcement to discuss and address school safety needs and concerns.

More than 400 educators and first responders from across Alabama are expected to attend Tuesday's summit.
