Police say accused robber told clerk 'thank you' before getaway

CHEROKEE, AL (WAFF) -

The woman arrested for a Cherokee armedrobbery remains in Mississippi on drug charges following her arrest there.

Mississippi law enforcement officials arrested Debbie Cochran in HornLake on Friday. Cherokee Police Chief Jason Williamson said Cochran robbed theChiska BP station earlier in the day, armed with a gun. Williamson said Cochrantold the clerk "thank you" before making her getaway in a car with two youngchildren inside.

A man identified as Jimmy Boutwell was alsocaught with Chochran in Mississippi. Police suspect he was with Cochran duringthe Cherokee holdup. Both will be charged with first-degree robbery when theyare returned to Alabama.

Police said the children's grandmother drovefrom Alabama to Mississippi to collect them. They are currently staying withher.
