(WMC-TV) – A night of partying at a Memphis nightclub turns violent for the second time in two months.
Two women are recovering at the hospital after getting shot at Classic Soulz located in the 1000 block of East Brooks Road just off Elvis Presley Boulevard.
Memphis Police say the two were shot as they were leaving the club.
Tommy Heathcock owns the family meat market across the street from Classic Soulz.
"We've been here since 2008," Heathcock said. "I understand there's been multiple shootings have happened within the last month, couple of months, seems to be an ongoing problem over here."
He says his store front was damaged Thursday night around the same time as the shooting.
"It makes it hard for a small businessman to have your customer base subjected to those kind of situations," he said.
Investigators say the two women were rushed to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life threatening. As police search for the shooter, Heathcock has to repair the damage done to his store.
He told Action News 5 that it's "just another expense that we incur."
Heathcock hopes the violence ends and his business survives.
There is no suspect description and no arrests have been made in this shooting.
