BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The NTSB is about halfway through an all-day hearing over the deadly UPS cargo jet crash in Birmingham last year.

One item released in the hearing is a cockpit voice recorder transcript of the pilots complaining of tiring work schedules that do not allow enough time for sleep at the start of the fatal flight. The transcript shows the captain complained cargo pilots are not given as much time to rest between work shifts as federal regulations require for pilots at passenger airlines. His co-pilot agreed, saying she had "good sleep" the previous night but woke up tired anyway.

Also during the hearing, an investigator testified he found no mechanical problem with the cargo plane.

The plane crashed last August, killing both pilots.
