HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A man arrested and charged with sexual abuse twice in eight days, appeared before a judge on Tuesday for a bond hearing.

Authorities arrested Brian Lucas in late January and charged him with first-degree sexual abuse and attempted sodomy with a minor.

One week after posting bond and leaving jail, Lucas is alleged to have committed new sex crimes with a different victim. He was arrested and additionally charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

An investigator with Huntsville Police testified Tuesday that one of the attacks happened Dec. 31 in 2013 and involved an 16-year-old girl.

The second assault allegedly happened Feb. 3 and involved an 18-year-old girl. The investigator testified the victim was celebrating her birthday and texted Lucas asking where she could get a hotel room. Lucas then invited the victim and her boyfriend to his house because it was cheaper. Police said Lucas then got both teens drunk and sexually assaulted the former babysitter on his couch.

Testimony also revealed that Lucas was a suspect in a 2004 rape case involving a 19-year-old girl, but the case never made it to court and he was never charged. Prosecutor Tim Gann said they learned about this case on Tuesday and will look for possible witnesses to talk to.

Lucas could possibly have electronic monitoring equipment and stay at his parents' Madison County house or his bond could be revoked. The judge took Lucas's request to lower bond under advisement.

Lucas's twin brother, Aaron Lucas, is currently behind bars in Colorado Springs after he pleaded guilty to multiple sexual assaults in Colorado. DNA evidence linked Aaron Lucas to more sexual assault crimes in Madison County and Texas. Aaron Lucas is scheduled to be sentenced on February 28.
