GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A national fishing tournament is expected to bring a welcome economic impact to Marshall County.

The Bassmaster Classic Tournament is expected to have a $20 million impact to the state, and Guntersville officials expect the area to get half of that.

The Hampton Inn is already sold out for the Bassmaster Classic. Local tourism officials are bringing in welcome kits to help steer visitors to shop locally.

Teams are already in town and are setting up for the big event. Tourism officials said they are excited to have all of the visitors because this truly could be a once-in-a-lifetime event.

The three-day tournament kicks off on Friday.
