MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A high speed chase across Marshall County ended in a crash and the arrest of a Huntsville man.

Deputies said the chase started around 11 p.m. Sunday night on Highway 431 in the Claysville area. According to authorities, the chase started after a deputy stopped a vehicle after noticing the driver going down the wrong side of the highway.

According to deputies, Chandon Marquis Mitchell, 27, of Huntsville, drove away from the traffic stop and led deputies on a chase from Claysville to Boaz, and back again to Guntersville.

Deputies said the chase ended at the intersection of Gunter Avenue and Ringold Street after Mitchell lost control of his vehicle, hit a curb and flipped the car outside a Wells Fargo Bank.

Mitchell faces several charges including attempting to elude and reckless endangerment. He was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Guntersville, Albertville, and Boaz Police assisted in the case.
