Federal officials are investigating after one person was injured and another walked away from a small plane crash in southwestern Tennessee.

The AP reported that a single-engine Cessna Skyhawk with two people on board went down near Pinson in Chester County on Friday night.

According to the AP, Chester County Emergency Management Director Johny Farris told the Jackson Sun that the plane left Ava, Missouri, on Friday afternoon and was headed to Northwest Alabama Regional Airport in Muscle Shoals, where the couple on board lives. Farris said the man was flying the plane and was able to walk away after the wreck. The pilot's wife was taken to a nearby hospital.

The AP said the plane was registered to an HR outsourcing firm, Lyons HRO Inc., in Florence.

Chester County EMA said that the plane was removed from the crash site on Sunday morning and was taken to a hangar to be examined as a part of the NTSB investigation.

The EMA also said the FAA took some preliminary information from the crash scene on Saturday, and the NTSB arrived Sunday to examine the scene.
