DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

The Decatur City Council did not vote on a proposal on the Point Mallard Ice Complex on Monday.

The bill would change the ice rink from operating year-round to only opening seasonally. City leaders said this change would save money. The city operates Point Mallard, and it's lost a lot of money recently.

Some residents are not happy about the idea, but city leaders stress that they're not getting rid of ice skating.

At Monday's city council meeting, it was announced that a vote on the measure had been pushed back to March 3.
