Suspect sought in Thursday night shooting in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Montgomery police say they have identified a suspect in a shooting that injured one person Thursday night.

Britanica Jenkins, 24, is wanted for first-degree assault, according to MPD.

The shooting happened Thursday at 6:20 p.m. in the 500 bock of S. McDonough Street. The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say he is currently listed as stable.

The initial investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from an argument, according to police.

Police had previously reported that Jenkins was in custody but have since said he is still at large.

Another cold morning out there today, but this is the last of that! Temperatures this morning are into the mid to upper teens and low 20s, but the wind chill is pretty much nonexistent because we have a light wind from the south at 2 mph.
