HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

The Butler County Sheriff's Office says undercover agents have broken up a major methamphetamine ring inside the county.

Deputies have arrested seven suspects connected with the ring.

Those arrested on various drug charges include:

  • Robert Murray, 39.
  • David Ables, 49.
  • Vernis Newton Jr., 29.
  • Ashley Vanwinkle, 29.
  • Micah Vanwinkle, 38.
  • Cody Webb, 29.
  • Michael Wisecup, 55.

Illegal drug activity will not be tolerated in Butler County," Sheriff Richard Jones said. "If you want to play that game and bring, make, or sell your poison here, you're likely to get caught.  I would think that people would start to get that message."

This is the third drug bust local officials have announced this week.

On Wednesday, the Butler County Sheriff's Office said it agents had seized 15 pounds of marijuana.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday a bust of 425 pounds of marijuana during an Interstate 71 traffic stop.

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
