Good Thursday evening. Here's a look at a few of the stories we're working on here in the WAFF 48 Newsroom.
We're continuing to investigate the charges a Huntsville teacher is facing. Mamon Edwards, who's a collaborative specialist at Chapman Middle School, is charged with sodomy in the case involving a boy between the ages of 12 and 16. We've learned that Edwards has resigned his position within the city school system tonight. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff continues to dig deeper into the charges and the possible punishment.
We're also investigating the rezoning plan for Huntsville City Schools. WAFF 48's Sarah Navoy was on hand for the school board meeting tonight to vote on a plan after 6 community meetings The meeting resulted in a unanimous vote of approval, despite objections from the Department of Justice, who had an alternative plan of their own.
We're also investigating the waiting times in the emergency rooms at local hospitals. WAFF 48's Jim Abath explores what the average wait time is for patients at E.R.s across the Tennessee Valley. We have some fascinating information on how long, or how short, the wait times actually are.
