JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The woman accused of killing a friend during an Iron Bowl party in November made an appearance in court Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Adrian Briskey shot and killed Michelle Shepherd after the latter made jokes that Alabama's loss to Auburn wasn't that bad.

In Wednesday's court proceedings, Briskey waived her preliminary hearing after her attorney said they have all the evidence they need right now. Her case will not move on to a grand jury.

Briskey's attorney, John Robbins, said at this point the public only knows one side of the story. "This is not the venue to present our defense or the full story. The only side of the story right now is the prosecution side. Stay tuned," he said.

Robbins was asked if he was going to argue self-defense. His response was, "You can put two and two together." He added that his heart goes out to the victim's family.
