DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A woman was arrested and charged with filing a false report after she told police she had been robbed in Decatur.

Decatur police reported that on Feb. 1, Jennifer Tucker, an assistant manager at a Burger King, filed a report claiming that she had been taking a deposit for the business to a local bank when she was robbed.

Tucker said that she was robbed while driving in the 2000 block of Beltline Access Road at 2:45 p.m. Tucker reported that the robber had been armed with a handgun and a knife, got into her car and made her drive him around Morgan County for two hours. She said the robber had her pull into a church on Norris Mill, where he left the car with the money.

The alleged victim was interviewed twice, on Feb. 1 and Feb. 3. Police said Tucker came to the police department on Feb. 4 and admitted that she had filed a false report and had been having financial problems. Police reported that Tucker admitted to lying about being robbed.

Tucker was arrested and charged with false reporting to a law enforcement officer. She was booked into Decatur City Jail on a $500 bond.
