Quarry company files federal suit against Gurley

GURLEY, AL (WAFF) -

A quarry company has filed a federal lawsuit against the town of Gurley.

M&N Materials filed a 15-page lawsuit (PDF) which outlines steps the town has taken since 2003 to stop any quarry operations on M&N property.

The company's lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages as well as legal fees. The suit also requests an injunction preventing the town from using its authority over the proposed quarry site.

So far, no hearing date in federal court has been set.
