HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Lab results are in and parents: strep throat is rearing its head again in the Tennessee Valley.

38 children tested positive for the illness this week. Doctors at Huntsville Pediatric Associates said symptoms include a sore throat and fever.

This week, doctors tested more children for the flu because of flu-like symptoms… but most didn't have the actual virus, so numbers are low. Out of the 171 tested, only 12 children tested positive this week.

RSV and walking pneumonia brought in matching numbers. This week, 11 children tested positive for both.
