Roadwork in Athens will shut down a portion of Lindsay Lane. Crews are replacing two large culverts south of Canebrake. The work starts Monday and will go all week.

The final machine at the International Paper mill in Courtland is expected to shut down this week. Hundreds of employees have been laid off in the months following the initial announcement that the plant was to close.

For those still struggling to sign up for health insurance, an enrollment fair will be held at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville on Monday and Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.; Navigators will be on hand to help people sign up for a new plan.

Inside our schools, three more public forums are on tap as Huntsville City School leaders explain proposed changes that involve re-drawing district lines. The meetings will be at Johnson High on Monday, Butler High on Tuesday, and Columbia High on Wednesday. Each meeting begins at 5 p.m.

Thursday is the final day for the school bus survey in Madison County. School leaders are seeking input from parents about some proposed plans to deal with a growing number of students. Those plans involve shifting school start times.

Friday marks the final day for major party candidates in Alabama to qualify for the 2014 election cycle.
