U.S. Marshals apprehend missing Shaw Air Force captain

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, SC (WIS) — U.S. Marshals, in coordination with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, apprehended Captain Robby Williams III who has been missing since Dec. 18.

Williams failed to report to work on Dec. 23, 2013, and has been missing since. According to Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Williams was apprehended around 5 p.m. Jan. 29 in Dothan, Alabama.

"We're all glad Robby is safe and back. We'll continue the investigation and figure out what happened," said Brig. Gen. John Dolan, the U.S. Air Forces Central Command Assistant Commanding Deputy. "We'll also continue to work with the family and friends of Robby during this time."

Williams is a member of U.S. Air Forces Central Command's Directorate of Communications, a command which handles operations for more than 20 nations throughout the Middle East and Central Asia, and is headquartered here. He has been stationed there since Nov. 2012.

    A ground search ensued that lasted about four hours and covered approximately six miles, ending a few hundred yards east of Hays Mill Road where the suspects were caught in a hunting stand/shoot house.
