FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

Florence High School is now looking for a new head football coach.

Jamey Dubose turned in his resignation Wednesday, effective immediately. He said he made the decision so he can be closer to his family. Dubose accepted a position at Charles Henderson High School in Troy, Alabama.

Florence High School leaders said Dubose has been instrumental in changing the culture of Falcon Football. They continued to say he helped create a successful program that will only continue to grow.

This is the third program in a week to announce its head coach is leaving. Both Deshler and Russellville High Schools are looking for new coaches.

Florence will attract a lot of big names, though all three will have some great talent apply as well. Florence showed a commitment to athletics by hiring Dubose, and the feeling here is they will do the same once again.
