MOULTON, AL (WAFF) -

A woman and her children are reported safe after a man allegedly broke into their home on County Road 368.

Lawrence County Sheriff's office arrested Johnny Morgan for robbery. Investigators said that Morgan forced his way into the residence armed with a knife demanding cash, car keys, and a cell phone.

The Sheriff said that the woman was at home with her children and avoided injury by complying with Morgan's demands. Deputies attempted to find Morgan shortly after, but were unable to locate him.

Morgan was apprehended Tuesday morning following a short foot chase, according to the Sheriff. The victim's vehicle and other items were recovered and returned. Morgan was taken to Lawrence County jail with no bond set at this time.
