Plunging temps make for frigid Friday

NORTH ALABAMA (WAFF) -

There will be plenty of sunshine Friday but highs will stay in the upper 20s and lower 30s. The winds will be light and out of the south.

Friday night will be another cold one with temperatures dropping to around 20 degrees.

The weekend will bring slightly milder temperatures. Highs will be in the lower to middle 40s Saturday under mostly cloudy skies. A few isolated flurries can't be completely ruled out, especially across southern middle Tennessee.

Sunday will be sunny and seasonable with highs near 50 degrees.

Another blast of cold air, straight from the Arctic, will arrive Monday night into Tuesday. Depending on cloud cover and moisture we could see single digit morning lows once again Wednesday.

There remains a lot of uncertainty regarding snow chances next week as the overall pattern changes from cold to warmer and wetter. For now, some flurries and light snow showers look possible Monday and Tuesday.
