Documents indicate Huntsville artist beaten to death

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Court documents revealed more information about the death of a Huntsville artist.

The body of 76-year-old Melborn "Wade" Wharton was found in his front yard on Nassau Drive last week. According to a complaint filed with the District Attorney's Office, Wharton was beaten to death during a burglary.

Ervin Tolbert is charged with capital murder for Wharton's death. He remains in the Madison County Metro Jail without bond.
