HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Downtown Huntsville will soon have a new look.

The city zoning committee showed off some new signage Wednesday morning.

The plan to revitalize the area with new signs has been in the works for about a year. The new signs are expected to attract and guide visitors through Downtown to key destinations and parking zones.

"I think it's going to help visitors immensely and get people where they want to go in a much better fashion. It's really going to ignite Downtown and that's what we want to see,' said Planning Commission member Vince Dickens.

The new signs will be presented to the full planning commission on Jan. 28 for a public hearing and vote.
