Woman accused of using sister's identity for credit

ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

An Athens woman was arrested, accused of using her sister's identity to run up multiple credit accounts.

Christine Scales was charged Monday with one count of identity theft. Scales' mother had told police Christine had opened accounts with DirecTV, Charter, JCPenney, Kohl's, Lowes, and the online credit service Bill Me Later using her sister's information.

Scales was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.
