Good Friday evening and TGIF!
We're continuing to follow the disturbing story of a man who allegedly broke into a Russellville home early Friday morning and attempted to rape a 12-year old girl in her bedroom. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff continues to dig deeper into the details of this case. 26-year old Gaspar Perez-Bartolo was taken into custody Friday afternoon for the crime. Did he know the victim? We'll investigate that for you.
Also... it's official. The Huntsville Stars professional baseball team is moving to Biloxi, Mississippi for the 2015 season. The Southern League approved the sale of the Stars today. WAFF 48'S Charles Molineaux spoke with Huntsville City Councilman as well as Huntsville native and former Stars player Hunter Morris about what this move means to the Tennessee Valley.
And we're following up on yet another robbery at the Phillips 66 station on Hughes Road in Madison. This marks the third robbery there recently. The store owner believes the same person is responsible for all 3 robberies. We have the surveillance video of the latest robbery that police hope will help solve this string of crimes.
We hope you'll join us on WAFF 48 News at 10.
