ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

Athens firefighters are setting up shop at the Limestone County EMA while workers clean up their station.

There is major damage to Fire Station 1, which flooded Tuesday. The sprinkler system burst and deluged the building around 3 a.m., damaging walls, the ceiling, furniture, computers and other equipment.

It could take at least 60 days to get the station back up and running. No word yet on how much the repairs will cost.
