1 dead in Nashville pedestrian collision

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car Wednesday evening in Nashville.

The incident happened just before 6 p.m. near the intersection of Hamilton Church Road and Murfreesboro Pike.

Police say 72-year-old Fayez Rizkalla of La Vergne was in the northbound lanes of Murfreesboro Pike when he was hit by a 2009 Ford Focus.

The driver, 51-year-old Lora Alexander of Nashville, says she did not see Rizkalla in the road.

No charges were filed against Alexander.

Police say there was no indication of alcohol or drug involvement.
