HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The preliminary hearing for a man charged with sexually abusing and holding an 8-year-old child captive has been postponed.

Carl Herold's preliminary hearing has now been postponed until Feb. 26.

The last time Herold was in court was for a bond hearing. When asked if he had taken the child to Disney World for sexual reasons, Herold said, "No, absolutely not. He had a great time on his birthday. And he turned 9 on Splash Mountain."

Investigators said Herold and his domestic partner, Charles Dunnavant, are accused of holding a child in a home for more than eight months.

About three weeks ago, prosecutors requested that the judge raise both their bonds to a million dollars. They said they're flight risks and a danger to the community. The judge did grant that request, and they are both in jail on a more than $1 million bond.

Investigators said more charges are expected to be filed against Herold.
